Conrad, who was crowned Miss Pennsylvania Talent in 2008, possesses an almost unbelievable vocal range and the ability to hit high notes most of the top country artists are unable to reach these days.
Her music idol, country legend Reba McEntire has been the inspiration behind two of Conrad’s original songs “Country Queen” and “Getting Even and Reba”.
With “Country Queen” Conrad displays her natural country roots and genuine love for all the things that the genre embodies. The song is an instant country classic that even has the power to pull in non-country lovers.
“Getting Even and Reba” showcases Conrad’s fiery, in-your-face attitude that thrust fellow country artists Miranda Lambert, Natalie Maines and Carrie Underwood into stardom, highlighting all the things we want to do to our exes, but never would. One could get used to living vicariously through Conrad’s fire and fearlessness.
Her song “If We Were a Nicholas Sparks Novel”, about finding the once in a lifetime love that the romance author is best known for, was heard and loved by the author himself. Sparks tweeted the song, wrote about it on his fan page, and invited Conrad to sing the song for him and his fans at one if his book signings. The song is genuinely moving and could bring out the hopeless “kissing-Prince-Charming-in-the-rain” romantic in even the most cynical of souls.
She was invited to perform at the White House on December 10, 2011 for the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, her third appearance at the ceremony. She has also performed in front of the United Nations.
Kendal has also received significant recognition for her talent from the sports world and has been invited to sing the National Anthem at events for NASCAR, the NBA, the MLB, and the MMA. She has even preformed for the Special Olympics in 2011.
She has also received numerous accolades such as the National Choir Award and the Collective Works Honor for Song of the Year for 2010.
Conrad who has proven to be quite the overachiever, pursuing a triple major in English, Music, and Theater, also has dreams of acting, having already had minor appearances in the Oscar nominated film Silver Linings Playbook as well as the USA Network miniseries Political animals.
The Pottstown, Pennsylvania native even has theater roots to round out her already impressive résumé, having starred in local productions of Fiddler on the Roof, JB, Sure Thing, Funny as a Crutch, and Noises Off.
Conrad’s overwhelming talent and passion to stay true to her own music will inevitably carry her into the spotlight. No gimmicks required here.
